Born in Siirt in 1960, Gürsel Baran is the founder of Dost Boya, established in 1981, which continues to thrive in the construction and paint materials industry. An influential figure in both his industry and community, he is an active member of the Timkoder-Tesisat Construction Industry Material Producers Association and the Siirt Education, Culture, and Solidarity Foundation. Gürsel Baran has a distinguished record of public service, having been elected to the Altındağ Assembly in the 2004 Local Elections, where he served two terms. In 1999, he was elected as a council member of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) and has since served four successful terms in various roles, including:
