Born in 1964 in Büyükköy, Çayeli district of Rize, Mehmet Yılmaz completed his primary and secondary education before graduating from Manisa High School. He has built a successful career across several industries, with significant contributions to the food, construction, and agriculture sectors. In 1990, Mehmet Yılmaz began his leadership journey by being elected to the Board of Directors of the Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI). Over the course of nearly three decades, he held prominent roles, including Vice Chairman of the Board for two terms and Vice Chairman of the Enterprising Committee of the Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Organized Industrial Zone. With an uninterrupted tenure of 27 years in the Board of Directors, Mehmet Yılmaz was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry on April 13, 2018, further solidifying his position as a key leader in the region’s economic development.Yılmaz, elected as a member of the Council of Chambers of Commerce and Industry during the 74th General Assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye on May 15, 2018, also holds several prestigious positions. He serves on the Board of Directors of Customs and Tourism Enterprises, as well as on the Board of Directors of TR-33 (Zafer Development Agency), overseeing the Manisa, Uşak, Afyonkarahisar, and Kütahya provinces. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Manisa Celal Bayar University Higher Education Foundation. In his extensive career, Yılmaz led the Manisa Province Bakery Products Producers Supply- Distribution Cooperative for 16 years, successfully uniting local bakery producers under one roof. He also contributed his expertise as an expert witness in the food sector. An active advocate for social causes, Yılmaz was among the founding members of the Contribution to Education Association, which supports university students by offering scholarships to those with outstanding academic achievements. Furthermore, Yılmaz is a member of the Association for the Promotion and Tourism of Manisa and Mesir and the Association of Russian-Speaking Communities, which was established to strengthen trade and cultural ties between Türkiye and Russia. He is also the Chairman of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, İTK Manisa Yunusemre.
