Kapıkule Border Gate is the gateway from Türkiye to Bulgaria and thus to the entire Europe. Serving as a major hub for external trade with Europe and as one of the busiest border gates of our country, Kapıkule holds significant importance for Türkiye both economically and in terms of culture and tourism.

Kapıkule, which is extensively used by our expatriate citizens coming from Europe by highway in the summer season, spans a total area of 430,000 square meters. It consists of a total of 23 platforms, with 12 exits and 11 entrances for cars and busses, and 14 platforms for commercial vehicles, with 8 exits and 6 entrances, providing services to drivers and passengers.

In two separate commercial buildings with a total closed area of 19,900 square meters, one dedicated to passengers and one to trucks (TIR), there are Duty-Free shops, dining areas, a supermarket, souvenir shops, currency exchange offices, a barber shop, ATM’s, telecommunication service providers, and an insurance agency. As a result, all drivers and passengers using the Kapıkule Customs Gate can fulfil their personal needs such as restrooms, showers, and prayer rooms while also being able to shop in a modern and comfortable environment.

Moreover, within the premises, Türkiye’s largest fuel station where up to 24 commercial vehicles can refuel simultaneously. In accordance with the regulations issued by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, commercial vehicles carrying export goods are exempt from Special Consumption Tax (SCT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) on fuel sales as part of export incentives.

Initially modernized by our company in 2008 and opened for service in 2009, Kapıkule continues to be the lifeline of trade, logistics, and human mobility between Türkiye and Europe. Thanks to the comprehensive renovation and expansion works carried out in 2020, Kapıkule has further solidified its position as a vital artery for trade logistics, and human mobility between Türkiye and Europe.
