Esendere Border Gate
The Esendere Border Gate, modernized by GTİ, holds significant geopolitical and geostrategic importance for Türkiye. This border crossing facilitates transportation to key Iranian cities such as Urumiyeh, Tabriz, and Tehran, contributing to the growth of Türkiye's trade with Iran and the economic development of Hakkari province. It derives its name from the nearby border town of Esendere.
Spanning 52,000 m², the Esendere Border Gate ensures secure and efficient passage for both passengers and vehicles. The facility is equipped with 4 platforms—2 entry and 2 exit lanes for trucks (TIRs), and 1 entry and 1 exit lane for cars and buses. Additionally, a lodging building with 84 apartments is available for public personnel stationed at the border.
