Esendere Border Gate
Esendere Border Gate, which has been modernized by GTİ, holds significant importance for our country from geopolitical and geostrategic perspectives. Facilitating transportation with the cities of Urmia, Tabriz, and Tehran in Iran, it greatly contributes to the development of trade with Iran and the economy of Hakkâri province. It derives its name from the town of Esendere located at the border.
Covering an area of 52,000 square meters, Esendere Border Crossing provides a secure and comfortable passage for both passengers and vehicles. For truck crossings, there are a total of 4 lanes with 2 entry and 2 exit lanes, while for cars and buses, there are 2 lanes with 1 entry and 1 exit lane. Additionally, there is an 84-unit apartment building available for use by the public personnel stationed at the border crossing. Moreover, visitors have the opportunity to shop at Duty-Free stores, enjoy leisure time at restaurants and cafes.
