Esendere Border Gate
The Esendere Border Gate, which has been modernized by GTİ, holds significant importance for our country from geopolitical and geostrategic perspectives. Facilitating transportation with the cities of Urmia, Tabriz, and Tehran in Iran, it greatly contributes to the development of trade with Iran and the economy of Hakkâri province. It derives its name from the town of Esendere located at the border.
The Esendere Border Gate, situated on a 50,000 square meter area, provides a secure and comfortable passage for both passengers and vehicles. For trucks, there are 4 platforms with 2 entrances and 2 exits, while for passengers, there are 2 platforms with 1 entrance and 1 exit. Additionally, modern Duty-Free shops are available for shopping, along with restaurants and cafes where travellers can enjoy their time.
The Esendere Border Gate has facilitated access to new markets and contributed to the expansion of foreign trade volume.
