The Habur Border Gate is Türkiye’s primary crossing point to Iraq and the Middle East, playing a pivotal role in regional trade. Modernized in 2006 by GTİ, it occupies a strategic area of 344,300 m² and serves as a vital link for trade between Türkiye, the Middle East, and Europe. To meet the increasing demands of cross-border trade, expansion works commenced in 2020 and were completed by mid-2021. These upgrades significantly boosted the gate’s capacity, improving efficiency and accommodating higher traffic volumes.

The gate now features 18 platforms dedicated to TIR (truck) crossings, including 9 entry and 9 exit lanes, 8 platforms for fuel tankers (4 entry and 4 exit), and 6 platforms for passenger vehicles and buses (3 entry and 3 exit), ensuring smoother and more efficient operations.

The Habur Border Gate offers a wide array of amenities for both passengers and truck drivers, including Duty-Free stores, food and beverage areas, and shopping markets. In addition, the border gate features essential commercial and social facilities, such as a PTT (postal) office, insurance agency, restrooms, and a mosque, ensuring all personal needs are met for travelers. Equipped with cutting-edge technology by GTİ, the modernized Habur Border Gate not only streamlines border operations but also plays a significant role in advancing the development of the region. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure and commitment to quality service, it enhances both the economic vitality of the area and the quality of life for local communities.
