Habur Border Gate
Habur Border Gate is Türkiye's gateway to Iraq and the Middle East. Modernized by GTİ in 2006 and occupying an area of 344,300 square meters, the Habur Border Gate serves as one of the most crucial stops for trade between Middle Eastern countries, Türkiye, and Europe. The renovated facilities were completed in the first half of 2021 and opened for service at full capacity.
In response to the increasing demand at the Habur Border Gate over time, expansion works were initiated in 2020 to meet the growing needs. These expansion efforts were completed in the first half of 2021, resulting in an increased capacity at the border gate. Currently, there are a total of 18 lanes for truck crossings, with 9 entry and 9 exit lanes, 8 lanes for fuel tankers, with 4 entry and 4 exit lanes, and 6 lanes for cars and buses, with 3 entry and 3 exit lanes, ensuring efficient service delivery.
At Habur Border Gate, separate Duty-Free stores are positioned for passengers and truck drivers, providing the opportunity for shopping. Additionally, there are dining areas and markets available for shopping. Moreover, commercial and social areas such as PTT (Post Office), insurance agencies, restrooms, and a mosque are provided to meet personal needs.
Habur Border Gate, equipped with state-of-the-art technology by GTİ, is accelerating our country's development process with its new and modern appearance and high-quality operational approach. Additionally, it supports the improvement of the living standards of the local population in the region.
